01.28.2016

Bob Saunders, a partner with Brooks Pierce, has been selected as a member of the board of directors for Carol Woods, an accredited nonprofit continuing care retirement community in Chapel Hill.

"I am honored to help lead an organization that does so much for Chapel Hill's aging population," said Saunders.  "I look forward to contributing my time and efforts to bettering the Carol Woods community for all residents."

Carol Woods is governed by a 17-member board that is entrusted with ultimate judiciary responsibility for the retirement community.  The board of directors provides strategic direction to management and receives input directly from residents to ensure that Carol Woods remains a desirable place for present and future residents to live.

Saunders is a tax and business lawyer with extensive experience in the nonprofit sector.  He recently completed his term as chair of the Chapel Hill-Carrboro Chamber of Commerce.  Saunders attended the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill, where he served as student body president in 1981, and earned his law degree from the University of Virginia School of Law.
