North Carolina law firm Brooks Pierce is pleased to announce that partners Kearns Davis and Charles Marshall have been named to the firm's management committee.  As members of the committee, they will participate in monitoring the firm's performance and making key decisions concerning the firm's direction and development.

“Both Kearns and Charles have proven themselves to be not just skilled and dedicated attorneys, but committed leaders in this firm,” said Reid Phillips, managing partner of Brooks Pierce. “They will both be great assets to the management team as we continue to expand the depth and breadth of legal knowledge we provide our clients.”

Davis leads Brooks Pierce’s white-collar defense and investigations practice and handles a range of federal and business litigation. A former federal prosecutor, he has tried jury cases at all levels of federal and North Carolina courts, and he represents clients in U.S. trial and appellate courts across the country. He currently serves as president of the North Carolina Bar Association.

Davis received his bachelor’s degree from Davidson College, his master’s degree from Duke University and his law degree from the University of North Carolina School of Law.

Marshall helps companies solve complex legal problems that span civil and constitutional litigation, regulatory investigations, and governmental affairs. He recently helped launch Brooks Pierce’s digital media and data privacy practice, and he has advised organizations of all sizes regarding data breaches and similar privacy incidents. He is a former litigator with the U.S. Department of Justice, a former aide to a United States senator, and recently completed a term on the UNC-Chapel Hill Board of Visitors.

Marshall received his bachelor’s degree from the University of North Carolina and his law degree from the University of North Carolina School of Law.
