Leading North Carolina law firm Brooks Pierce is pleased to announce that Ryan Fairchild has joined the firm as an associate in its Wilmington office.  His practice will focus on civil, commercial and federal litigation and international law.

“We are excited to welcome Ryan to Brooks Pierce and believe he will be a great addition to our growing Wilmington office,” said Reid Phillips, managing partner of Brooks Pierce. “He brings diverse experience that will not only benefit our Wilmington team, but the firm as a whole.”

Fairchild joined Brooks Pierce after serving as a law clerk in the U.S. District Court for the Eastern District of North Carolina. A world traveler, his past experiences include developing a partnership between the United States and China for the transfer of clean energy technology. Fairchild received his bachelor’s degree from Brigham Young University and graduated with honors from University of North Carolina School of Law.

“I’m thrilled to have the opportunity to join such a respected and successful law firm,” said Fairchild. “I look forward to working with and learning from this group of skilled attorneys, and contributing to the firm’s already deep experience in litigation and international law.”

Fairchild represents both domestic and international companies on issues such as imports and exports, cargo claims, intellectual property matters and cross-border transactions. In addition to these areas, he also advises businesses on complex matters surrounding mergers and acquisitions, including employment issues, securities and regulatory compliance.
