Elizabeth Biser Receives Two Awards from University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill

Elizabeth Biser, a government relations advisor at Brooks Pierce, was awarded both the Deil S. Wright Research Paper Award and Nannette V. Mengel Communication Award from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill’s Master of Public Administration (MPA) program. Biser received her master’s degree this past December.

The Deil S. Wright Research Paper Award is awarded to one MPA graduate each year in recognition of the best research paper. Biser wrote her paper on state-level regulation of food waste.

The Nannette V. Mengel Communication Award is awarded to the graduate student who has the best oral presentation and defense of his or her research. Biser is the first in the history of the program to receive both awards.

Biser advocates for clients before the North Carolina General Assembly and state government agencies in a wide range of industries including finance, communications, manufacturing, transportation and environmental sectors. She is a current member of the N.C. State Natural Resources Foundation, Inc. board of directors and previously served as director of legislative affairs for the N.C. Department of Environment and Natural Resources. She is also a board member of the North Carolina Professional Lobbyists Association.
