Nicole Crawford, a labor and employment partner with Brooks Pierce, will speak at the National Employment Law Council’s 22nd annual conference in Denver on April 27. She will serve on a panel entitled “Working with and Managing the Whistleblower” to discuss the challenges and pitfalls of handling a whistleblower who is still a current employee.
The panel will address practical issues such as how to handle any performance issues, including behavior and conduct issues, after an employee has “blown the whistle” as well as how to deal with co-workers who may express negative concerns over the whistleblower’s activities or perceived “special treatment” of the whistleblower. The panel will close with compliance issues and preventive suggestions for minimizing whistleblower claims.
Crawford focuses her practice on labor and employment law and litigation and is a frequent speaker on employment law and related matters. The National Employment Law Council, with over 1,100 leading labor and employment defense attorneys in the United States, is an organization of external and in-house minority labor and employment lawyers facilitating the enrichment of the minority bar, representing management in labor and employment matters.
