Ryan Fairchild Discusses Esports Player Contract Controversy

09.18.2019

Brooks Pierce attorney Ryan Fairchild recently discussed the ongoing Tfue and FaZe Clan contract controversy in a YouTube video with Devin Nash, professional speaker and chief marketing officer of N3RDFUSION.

In May 2019, professional esports player Tfue filed a lawsuit against his former team FaZe Clan alleging the organization violated the California Talent Agency Act. FaZe Clan recently filed a counter lawsuit stating Tfue had violated his contract by making disparaging comments.

In their video, Fairchild and Nash give an overview of the lawsuits and the possible implications on the esports industry. Fairchild states that the situation could lead to a change in the practices in esports, and the best way to prevent similar situations from arising is the creation of players’ associations to aid in the development of the industry.

The YouTube video currently has 8,500 views and continues to increase.
