Singer Addresses Goals of New NC Banking Act

Brooks Pierce partner Bob Singer spoke at the North Carolina Bankers Association's Banking Modernization Act seminar on October 2, 2012 in Raleigh, NC.

Bob presented on the goals of the new North Carolina Banking Act and its provisions dealing with corporate governance and supervisory activities. He was also the moderator of a discussion session with representatives of the North Carolina Office of the Commissioner of Banks and the other speakers.

Bob was a member of the drafting group which advised the Commissioner and provided drafts of the Act in proposed form for consideration by the Commissioner and the Study Commission of the North Carolina General Assembly.

He maintains an active practice in the representation of banking organizations and the North Carolina Bankers Association and provides securities and corporate advice to a number of publicly-traded corporations. Bob also advises the Brooks Pierce litigation practice in the defense of directors, auditors and others in securities cases.
