Brooks Pierce attorney Melissa Bailey recently acted as moderator for a panel entitled “An Industry on the Brink: Legal Developments in Esports.” The panel was held during the ninth annual Entertainment and Sports Law Symposium.
The panel discussed players’ rights, if a governing body was necessary in the industry and intellectual property. Along with Bailey, the panel included an attorney with an esports law firm, an executive director for North American League of Legends Champion Series Players Association and the director of gaming operations for the Cleveland Cavaliers.
Cleveland-Marshall College of Law’s Entertainment and Sports Law Association hosted the symposium, which included four panel discussions ranging in topics from player safety to esports.
