Brooks Pierce Attorney Presents at North Carolina Council of School Attorneys Virtual Summer Law Conference

07.27.2020

Brooks Pierce attorney Elizabeth Troutman presented during the North Carolina Council of School Attorneys (NCCOSA) virtual Summer Law Conference on July 23.

The presentation, “Implementing the New Title IX Regulations,” provided information to attendees on the updated Title IX guidance and how schools can ensure they are complying with these new regulations. On May 6, 2020, extensive new regulations were published by the U.S. Department of Education; these regulations take effect Aug. 14, 2020.

The NCCOSA was formed to support school board attorneys in their efforts to advise and represent local boards of education. NCCOSA offers school board attorneys access to a wealth of information on the dynamic world of school law in the form of conferences, publications and advice from fellow attorneys.

Troutman advises public school boards of education, private educational institutions and colleges and universities on a wide range of education issues, and advocates for educational institutions in administrative proceedings, state and federal courts, and before local, state, and federal regulatory agencies. She serves on the Executive Committee of the North Carolina Council of School Attorneys and is a frequent speaker at education law conferences.
