Brooks Pierce Attorneys Present Social Media Defamation and Employment Policy CLE for GGI Southeast Chapter
Brooks Pierce attorneys Eric David and Jessi Thaller-Moran presented on social media defamation and employment policy during a Continuing Legal Education (CLE) webinar for Geneva Group International’s Southeast chapter members. The program was hosted on April 21.
The presentation, “Minding Others’ Business: Navigating Gossip, Defamation, and Employee Use of Social Media,” covered how businesses can manage their online reputations within the confines of the law and what boundaries employers face when designing their social media policies or policing employee social media usage.
David focuses his practice on First Amendment law, business litigation and media and communications law. A seasoned litigator, he represents businesses and individuals in high-stakes litigation in federal and state court, including the North Carolina Business Court.
Thaller-Moran seeks to help companies thrive by providing solid, timely employment law counsel and dispute resolution strategies. She has advised companies on wage and hour issues, Family Medical Leave Act/Americans with Disabilities Act compliance, Title VII and other discrimination claims, as well as non-competition and other agreements. Thaller-Moran also represents employers in litigation in state and federal court when necessary.
