Brooks Pierce attorneys Beth Langley and Elizabeth Troutman presented a webinar on worker misclassification on Dec. 11.
The presentation reviewed new Department of Labor (DOL) regulations concerning the “white collar” exemptions, which go into effect Jan. 1, 2020. Langley and Troutman provided tools to assist employers with spotting issues related to worker misclassification in their organizations.
Langley has over 25 years of experience counseling employers of all sizes in a wide range of employment law issues. She has represented businesses in employment litigation in matters involving civil rights, non-competition agreements and trade secret protection.
Troutman focuses her practice on educational institutions, and regularly counsels clients in the public and private sectors on compliance with state and federal employment laws, employee management concerns, employment discrimination matters, Family and Medical Leave Act issues, and issues related to disability discrimination and accommodation claims.
