Brooks Pierce partner Bob Saunders presented at the 2018 North Carolina Council of Resource Development (NC CORD) Conference, which was held from Oct. 17-19 in Sanford, North Carolina.
The NC CORD Conference provided individuals with opportunities for professional development and networking with leading innovators and state-wide development officers. In his presentation, entitled “Top Ten Things You and Your Board Need to Know,” Saunders outlined the most important factors community college foundations and their respective boards should consider when assessing internal operations and company organization. The presentation also provided tips on how community colleges can increase funding and expand education access. He co-presented with Mary Morgan, philanthropy counsel for the North Carolina Community Foundation.
Saunders is a tax and business lawyer with extensive experience in the nonprofit sector. He counsels primarily tax-exempt organizations, both charitable and non-charitable, on issues such as formation, operations, dissolution and mergers.
