Brooks Pierce partners Tony Barwick and Adam Tarleton recently presented on “Opportunities for Developers under the Federal Opportunity Zone Program.” The event was hosted by Dwight Bassett, the economic development director for the town of Chapel Hill, at the Carolina Inn on April 2.
The presentation covered the federal tax incentives available for investments in areas designated as “Opportunity Zones” and the requirements for taking advantage of these incentives. Tarleton and Barwick went into further detail on working capital and planning issues that may arise in structuring an opportunity zone investment.
