Brooks Pierce Partners to Host Roundtable Discussions at the UNCW Center for Innovation and Entrepreneurship
Brooks Pierce partners Charles Baldwin and Thomas Varnum will be hosting roundtable discussions at an event called "What Businesses Need to Know About Law." The event is being held by the UNCW Center for Innovation and Entrepreneurship on Wednesday, September 30 at the Center's offices on the UNCW campus.
The event features attorneys from all over North Carolina who will discuss topics relevant to business law such as corporate litigation, bankruptcy, start-up law, professional liability, and technology. Baldwin and Varnum will be leading discussions on international business law and copyright law, respectively.
Charles Baldwin has been recognized as one of the state's leading attorneys in international and transportation law. His practice involves advising clients on importing, exporting, international finance concerns, and Federal Maritime Commission issues. He is a frequent speaker on international business law throughout North Carolina.
Thomas Varnum handles all aspects of intellectual property law for his clients, including trademarking, copyrighting, trade secret protection, and data privacy. He regularly litigates intellectual property infringement and trade secrets misappropriation lawsuits in both state and federal courts, and handles trademark proceedings before the USPTO's Trademark Trial and Appeal Board.
