Brooks Pierce to Host American Bar Association Intellectual Property Roundtable

Brooks Pierce attorneys David Sar and Darrell Fruth will host an American Bar Association Intellectual Property roundtable discussion at the firm’s Raleigh office on Thursday, July 9, from noon to 1:30 p.m.

The roundtable, titled “TTAB and Litigation Strategy After B&B Hardware,” will discuss how the ruling of B&B Hardware v. Hargis Industries is expected to impact strategy in Trademark Trial and Appeal Board (TTAB) proceedings. In the case, the Supreme Court ruled “a court should give preclusive effect to TTAB decisions if the ordinary elements of issue preclusion are met.” Sar and Fruth, along with other top industry leaders, will share insight on the implications of this ruling and how trademark litigators can minimize the likelihood that issue preclusion will unexpectedly apply in future disputes.
