Coe W. Ramsey to Speak at 2016 International Bluegrass Music Association World of Bluegrass Business Conference
Coe W. Ramsey, a partner in the Raleigh office of Brooks Pierce, will speak on the unique copyright and music licensing issues relating to music streaming services at the IBMA World of Bluegrass Business Conference on Tuesday, September 27. The discussion, titled "Current Music Licensing Issues Created by Streaming Services," will cover the growth of digital music streaming services, such as Spotify, Apple Music, and Pandora, the types of copyright licenses such services need, how musicians and artists are paid when listeners consume their music using these services, and related current issues and disputes.
The IBMA World of Bluegrass Business Conference is being held in Raleigh from September 27 to October 1. This session is one of four focused on continuing legal education in the music industry.
Ramsey is co-presenting with David Oxenford, partner at the law firm of Wilkinson Barker Knauer LLP, in its Washington, D.C. office.
