Brooks Pierce partner Darrell Fruth presented "Emerging Environmental Issues" at the 2nd Annual Eastern Carolina Environmental Conference hosted by the Fleet Readiness Center East Environmental and Energy Program Division on May 9-10, 2012 at the Marine Corps Air Station, Cherry Point.
The conference included a keynote speech by Dee Freeman, Secretary of the North Carolina Department of Environment and Natural Resources, and an appearance by U.S. Navy's F/A-18 Green Hornet, the first 50/50 biofuel blend in supersonic operations.
As part of his environmental practice, Darrell has represented landowners in disputes over contaminated property, litigated complex federal permitting issues, represented parties in CERCLA actions, and defended a company charged with criminal violations of pretreatment requirements under the Clean Water Act. He has counseled clients on a range of sustainability issues, including climate change regulation, permitting for alternative energy facilities, and creating a marketplace for advanced climate mitigation technologies.
