Justin Outling Speaks at 2019 Young Professional Educators Academy Welcome Reception
Brooks Pierce partner and Greensboro City Councilman Justin Outling spoke at the Young Professional Educators Academy (YPEA) Welcome Reception on Jan. 10. The event, organized by SynerG and Guilford Education Alliance (GEA), kicked off the 2019 YPEA, a development program that aims to empower Guilford County School educators to leverage their knowledge and resources to benefit themselves, Guilford County Schools and the broader community by providing them with connections to local leaders, other teachers and classroom support.
Outling said he is grateful for SynerG and the Alliance’s efforts to “teach the teacher,” and encouraged attendees to “be students and do as you ask them to do. Listen. Absorb. Ask questions. Ask for advice. Ask for assistance. Take advantage of all that is being offered during the sessions and afterward.”
Outling focuses his practice on business litigation and white-collar criminal defense, representing clients in matters involving breaches of contract, unfair competition and trade practices, fraud claims, shareholder disputes, commercial financing and governmental investigations. A University of North Carolina at Greensboro alumni and active member of the Greensboro community, Outling has served as a councilman for the City of Greensboro since 2015. He also serves as co-chair of the board of visitors for the University of North Carolina at Greensboro and on the board of directors for the Hospice Foundation of Greater Greensboro and Greensboro Downtown Parks, Inc.
