Tim Nelson Presents at 36th Annual “Representing Your Local Broadcaster” CLE as Part of the National Association of Broadcasters Show
Brooks Pierce communications attorney Tim Nelson was a panelist at the 36th Annual “Representing Your Local Broadcaster” conference in Las Vegas on Sunday, April 23. The continuing legal education event is presented by the American Bar Association’s Forum on Communications Law and the Federal Communications Bar Association, and takes place in conjunction with the National Association of Broadcasters Show.
Nelson served on a panel called “What’s the Whole Regulatory Picture at the FCC?” The panelists discussed the recent changes to FCC regulations and the policies behind them, and they examined what possible regulatory changes may be on the horizon. Topics included the FCC’s rules on foreign and local ownership, children’s programming, political broadcasting, station recordkeeping and more.
Nelson is a former TV reporter who focuses his practice on media law, FCC regulatory work and advocacy before the Commission and mergers and acquisitions among media companies.
