Tim Nelson Serves as Panelist for ABA/FCBA “Representing Your Local Broadcaster” Conference
Brooks Pierce attorney Tim Nelson served on a panel during the 37th Annual “Representing Your Local Broadcaster” conference in Las Vegas in April. The continuing legal education event is jointly presented by the American Bar Association’s Forum on Communications Law and the Federal Communications Bar Association and held in conjunction with the National Association of Broadcasters Show.
Nelson’s panel, titled “Overhauling the Regulatory Lineup,” examined the status of numerous regulations governing television and radio broadcasting, including rules regarding station ownership, station recordkeeping, sponsorship identification, children’s programming, political broadcasting and other issues.
A former TV reporter, Nelson focuses his practice on representing clients in the media industry, such as television stations, radio stations, newspapers, broadcasting companies and trade organizations. He represents clients in Federal Communications Commission regulatory compliance issues, advocacy before the FCC and mergers and acquisitions among media companies.
