Brooks Pierce Partners Provide Updates on North Carolina Business Court for 2016
Brooks Pierce partners Ben Norman and Jennifer Van Zant presented at the University of North Carolina’s (UNC) 2016 Festival of Legal Learning.
Their presentation, “North Carolina Business Court: Year in Review,” discussed important decisions decided in 2015 by the North Carolina Business Court, insight on practice pointers, and provided an update on changes that have occurred.
The Festival of Legal Learning offered more than 100 courses designed to build basics, sharpen skills, provide perspectives and highlight new developments in the field of law during an intensive two-day period. This diverse program allowed participants to customize their learning by choosing the courses most beneficial to their specific needs.
Norman is a litigator who represents clients in state and federal trial and appellate courts, including the North Carolina Business Court. While the parties and industries have varied, nearly all of his cases involve working to find the best resolution for the client when faced with a failed business relationship.
Van Zant focuses her practice on complex business litigation — the more complicated, the better. She represents businesses on a wide range of disputes before federal courts and the North Carolina Business Court, and works closely with clients to make paths toward resolution.
