Brooks Pierce partner Beth Langley was recently interviewed by NC Lawyer Magazine after joining the Platt D. Walker Society by establishing a planned gift to the North Carolina Bar Foundation.
The article discusses Langley’s service as chair of the North Carolina Bar Association’s (NCBA) development committee from 2014 to 2017, during which time she gained a special appreciation for a lawyer’s role in serving the surrounding community. She specifically mentions the pro bono and educational service opportunities the NCBA provides to lawyers in North Carolina, such as 4ALL Service Day and N.C. Lawyers for Entrepreneurs Assistance Program (NC LEAP), which provide free or discounted legal services to low-income individuals and businesses.
“It is important when you decide to support a charitable organization that you choose an organization whose mission you believe in,” Langley said. “And I truly believe in the mission of the North Carolina Bar Foundation.”
