Brooks, Pierce, McLendon, Humphrey & Leonard, LLP is pleased to announce the return of William P.H. Cary to the firm. Last spring, Bill accepted an appointment by Governor Perdue to serve as General Counsel of the North Carolina Department of Environment and Natural Resources. Previously, Bill had worked at Brooks Pierce for 35 years.
“We are very pleased that Bill has rejoined Brooks Pierce. His acceptance of the DENR appointment was a significant service to the State of North Carolina,” said Ed Winslow, Managing Partner. “Bill’s return to Brooks Pierce will help to keep us at the forefront of providing sophisticated legal services to business and institutional clients.”
Bill represents businesses in environmental law and management in labor and employment law, including practice in the state and federal courts in North Carolina, South Carolina, and Virginia, as well as practice before administrative agencies. He is also on the approved mediator list for the United States District Court for the Middle District of North Carolina and serves frequently in that capacity.
“I am excited to rejoin Brooks Pierce and once again practice with these lawyers. My time at DENR was a wonderful experience, and I look forward to using what I learned there to benefit my clients here,” Bill said.
