Brooks Pierce Announces Three New Partners

Leading North Carolina law firm Brooks Pierce is delighted to announce that Daniel Adams, David Green and Dan Smith have been named partners in the firm.

A former New York public defender, Adams focuses his practice on white-collar criminal defense, representing clients facing pre- and post-indictment investigations by federal and state regulators including the Department of Justice, Securities and Exchange Commission and Environmental Protection Agency. He has experience defending clients against allegations of bank fraud, securities fraud, accounting fraud, embezzlement, money laundering, criminal tax evasion, political corruption and other forms of financial mismanagement. In 2017, Adams was selected for the North Carolina Bar Association Leadership Academy, a highly competitive training program that helps lawyers become more effective leaders in their community. Adams earned his bachelor’s degree from University of Maryland and his juris doctorate from Harvard Law School.

Green focuses his practice on commercial real estate, agribusiness and financial services and banking law. He regularly represents clients in the acquisition, financing, development, leasing and disposition of farmland and commercial properties. He also represents commercial lenders in structuring, documenting and reviewing various credit facilities. In 2017, he was appointed to the Bank Counsel Committee of the North Carolina Bankers Association to serve as a liaison regarding real estate property matters. Green earned his bachelor’s degree from North Carolina State University and his juris doctorate from University of North Carolina School of Law. 

Smith focuses his practice on environmental, commercial, educational and state constitutional law. Smith serves individuals and businesses in state, federal, administrative and appellate courts. He has been recognized by North Carolina Super Lawyers as a “Rising Star” in environmental law since 2016. In August 2018, he was elected chairman of the board of directors for Greensboro Beautiful, a nonprofit that focuses on improving the beauty and ecology of Greensboro. He earned his bachelor’s degree and master’s degree from Duke University and his juris doctorate from UNC-School of Law.
