Brooks Pierce Attorney Appointed to North Carolina Council on Developmental Disabilities

Brooks Pierce attorney Daniel F.E. Smith has been named to the North Carolina Council on Developmental Disabilities (NCCDD).

The NCCDD is made up of 40 members who either have intellectual or developmental disabilities, are family members of someone with intellectual or developmental disabilities or are representatives from state agencies, nonprofit and professional organizations. The NCCDD meets quarterly and is responsible for carrying out provisions of the Developmental Disabilities Assistance and Bill of Rights Act across the state. Members can serve up to two four-year terms.

Smith, who has a child with developmental disabilities, focuses his practice on environmental, business and education litigation and state constitutional law.
