Brooks Pierce Attorney John Small Selected for Leadership Role with the Bankruptcy Section of the North Carolina Bar Association

Brooks Pierce partner John Small was recently elected the vice-chair of the Bankruptcy Section of the North Carolina Bar Association (NCBA). His term will begin July 1, 2018. Small has been a member of the NCBA Bankruptcy Section Council since 2015.

The NCBA serves more than 20,000 lawyers, judges, paralegals and law students across the state. With more than 31 practice specialty sections, the NCBA is an essential resource for information and news relating to the law industry. The organization offers multiple opportunities for professional development, such as continuing legal education courses, a platform to publish law-related articles and various faculty resources. The NCBA also aids the public through a lawyer referral service and an annual statewide service day where the public can call and receive free legal advice.

Small has more than 30 years of experience representing both creditors and debtors in business bankruptcies, and is a Board Certified specialist in business and consumer bankruptcy law. He also counsels small businesses and religious organizations on a wide range of legal issues.
