Brooks Pierce Attorney Melissa Bailey Elected to NCBA Business Law Section Council
Brooks Pierce attorney Melissa Bailey was recently elected to the North Carolina Bar Association (NCBA) Business Law Section Council. Bailey’s two-year term will begin on July 1.
The NCBA Business Law Section provides information and updates for those in the business law field, including matters of banking law, securities regulation, business financing, acquisitions, antitrust, contracts, corporations, director liability, mergers and guarantees, and meets with the N.C. Secretary of State’s office. The section sponsors continuing legal education programs and services, provides members with a substantive newsletter and helps mold the association's legislative agenda for presentation to the N.C. General Assembly.
Bailey represents clients in corporate transactions of all types, including mergers, acquisitions, divestitures, lending transactions and financing transactions. She also assists start-up businesses with entity formation, including organizational documents, financing concerns and liability issues.
