Brooks Pierce Attorney Quoted by Triad Business Journal Regarding Partnerships for Young Attorneys

Brooks Pierce attorney Kim Marston was recently quoted by the Triad Business Journal in an article discussing young attorneys’ thoughts about pursuing partnership in their firm.

The article, “Pursuing Partnership is Still the Norm, but Millennials are Altering the Legal Landscape,” addresses younger attorneys’ choices regarding whether or not to pursue the partnership track and what factors influence their decision. Marston spoke with the Triad Business Journal about the benefits of becoming partner and why she is still pursuing the track herself.

“It conveys that you have experience. You can’t just come into law practice and be a partner. So it helps in developing trust with your client base,” Marston said. “And it gives you more control in your career, in terms of how much you work. You can kind of individualize it when you make partner.”

Marston is in her sixth year of practice with Brooks Pierce. She focuses her practice on complex commercial litigation and lawyer malpractice defense, representing businesses and professionals in state and federal courts, including the North Carolina Business Court.
