Brooks Pierce Attorney Quoted in North Carolina Lawyers Weekly Article on Pro Bono Work
Will Quick, an attorney with Brooks Pierce, was quoted in a North Carolina Lawyers Weekly article titled “Pro bono in your pajamas’ program seeking volunteers.” The article highlights the North Carolina Bar Association’s Free Legal Answers program, a platform that allows those who cannot afford legal aid to seek quick online answers from lawyers looking to provide pro bono services.
Currently, the program is seeking to engage more lawyers and create further awareness about the program within the legal community. Quick, co-chair of the Free Legal Answers task force, says the program is a great starting point for young lawyers looking to do pro bono work but wary to take it on.
“With many young lawyers, there’s a sense of, ‘Should I be doing this? Will I mess up?’ With this you can see the question, do research and then check the question out,” said Quick. “It adds a sense of confidence and gets young lawyers engaged at an easy level, so as they grow in pro bono, they feel more confident to take on bigger projects.”
