Brooks Pierce Attorneys Publish Article on Vaccinations in the Workplace
Brooks Pierce attorneys Tricia Goodson and James Bobbitt recently published an article with McKnight’s Senior Living on whether or not employers could require workers to get seasonal flu vaccines.
The article, “Mandating seasonal flu vaccinations in the workplace in the time of COVID-19,” discusses the renewed focus of employers on whether or not to mandate seasonal flu vaccinations, with the COVID-19 pandemic in mind.
According to the article, the Centers for Disease Control (CDC) and the Equal Employment Opportunity Commission (EEOC) do not recommend that employers require employees to receive the flu vaccine. Related, “neither the CDC nor the EEOC have issued guidance regarding whether employers will be able to require employees to receive a COVID-19 vaccine.”
Goodson and Bobbitt counsel businesses of all sizes and human resources professionals in a variety of employment law related matters, including hiring and termination procedures, compensation and benefits, wage and hour issues and federal and state employment regulations. They also represent clients in EEOC proceedings and in state and federal court against wage and hour claims, discrimination claims, retaliation claims and other sources of employment litigation.
