Brooks Pierce is pleased to announce the launch of a new blog: the North Carolina Business Litigation Report.
The blog reports on judicial decisions from North Carolina courts which are significant to businesses doing business in the State, the shareholders and owners of those businesses, and the lawyers who represent those businesses.
The primary focus of the blog is the rulings of the North Carolina Business Court, a specialized forum of the North Carolina State Courts' trial division and one of the first Courts in the country to focus exclusively on complicated business disputes.
Information on the blog includes reports on the 2008 decisions of the Business Court and links to those decisions, as well as information on the Judges of the Court, the jurisdiction of the Court and the history of the Court. In addition, a Case Database contains searchable summaries of all of the nearly 150 published decisions of the Court as well as summaries of a number of the Court's unpublished decisions.
The author of the North Carolina Business Litigation Report is Brooks Pierce attorney Mack Sperling. Mack is a business litigator who has appeared frequently in the Business Court since it began hearing cases in 1996. Mack started this blog "to provide prompt reporting on significant business law decisions from North Carolina courts, particularly decisions from the North Carolina Business Court."
