Brooks Pierce partner Mark Prak is one of four people elected to the board of directors of the United Arts Council of Raleigh and Wake County for the 2017-18 fiscal year.
The United Arts Council is a private nonprofit that aims to better Raleigh and Wake County through arts education, programming and by providing access to arts resources. The new members were selected because of the unique skills and creative ideas they can bring to the organization.
Prak focuses his practice on media and communications law as well as litigation on behalf of businesses and trade associations. He has been a member of Audubon North Carolina’s board of directors since 2015 and of Old Baldy Foundation’s board of directors since 2011. Since 1993 he has been recognized annually by The Best Lawyers in America for his work in first amendment law, first amendment litigation and mergers and acquisitions law as well as for media law in 2017.
