Brooks Pierce partner John H. Small was recently recognized by the North Carolina State Bar Board of Legal Specialization for being certified in bankruptcy law for 30 consecutive years.
Small, who works primarily from Brooks Pierce’s Greensboro office, represents both creditors and debtors in business bankruptcies. He also counsels small businesses and religious organizations on a wide range of legal issues, including entity formation, mergers and acquisitions, financing, contract issues and governance. He is also a member of the American Bankruptcy Institute, the nation’s largest association of bankruptcy professionals.

The Best Lawyers in America© also named him Greensboro’s “Lawyer of the Year” for Bankruptcy Litigation in 2016 and for Bet-the-Company Litigation in 2018.
