Libby Brewington, a partner in Brooks Pierce’s Greensboro office, has been named to the Triad Business Journal’s “Outstanding Women in Business.” The award honors female business leaders who are making a difference through their professional achievements and philanthropic contributions in the Triad. Winners will be recognized at a ceremony on April 4.

Brewington, who joined the firm more than 26 years ago, focuses her practice on business law and corporate transactions, representing clients in commercial loan transactions, the purchase and sale of businesses, entity formation and business reorganizations and other legal issues that arise in business operations.

“Libby has made great contributions to both the legal profession and the local community throughout the years,” said Reid Phillips, managing partner of Brooks Pierce. “We appreciate the great lengths she goes to for her colleagues and for our clients and are thrilled she’s received this recognition for her work.”

Brewington is a member of Brooks Pierce’s Associates Committee, Finance Committee and Strategic Planning Committee. She also serves as an associate mentor.

Since 2015, Brewington has been selected by her peers for inclusion in The Best Lawyers in America for corporate law each year. She has previously served as treasurer of and chaired the board of directors for The Barnabas Network, a local furniture bank. Other community involvement has included leadership roles with People to People Liaison and Ten Thousand Villages of Greensboro. She has also served as a member of the finance committee for Canterbury School, been a member of the Women to Women Advisory Council and is a graduate of Leadership Greensboro.
