Brooks Pierce Partner Receives North Carolina Bar Association’s Citizen Lawyer Award
Brooks Pierce partner and Greensboro City Councilman Justin Outling was selected as one of the recipients of the North Carolina Bar Association’s (NCBA) Citizen Lawyer Award for 2019. The award will be presented at the NCBA’s Annual Meeting Awards and Recognition Dinner on June 20 at the Amherst Conference Center at the Biltmore in Asheville, North Carolina.
The award is given to attorneys who, in addition to their legal work, exemplify the ideals of a citizen lawyer through their volunteer service and leadership to improve the quality of life of those in their local and statewide communities. The award recognizes role models who inspire other lawyers to get involved in service-oriented activities. Outling is one of 11 recipients of the award this year.
Outling focuses his practice on business litigation and white-collar criminal defense. He has served as a Greensboro City Councilman since 2015 and was named to the Greensboro News & Record’s “Top 20 People of Influence” in 2017. He serves as co-chair of the board of visitors for the University of North Carolina at Greensboro and on the board of directors for the Hospice Foundation of Greater Greensboro, Preservation Greensboro, Greensboro Downtown Parks and Carolina State Bank.
