Leading North Carolina law firm Brooks Pierce is pleased to announce that James L. Bobbitt III has joined the firm as an associate. His practice will focus on state and federal employment litigation.

Bobbitt counsels businesses of all sizes on a variety of matters including pre-litigation dispute resolution, Equal Employment Opportunity Commission charges and federal and state litigation on a wide range of issues including discrimination, harassment, wage and hour law, whistleblowing and retaliation. He also advises human resources professionals and in-house counsel on compliance with laws related to hiring and termination procedures, compensation and benefits, and medical and parental leave.
Bobbitt joins Brooks Pierce from the Louisville, Kentucky, office of Dinsmore & Shohl LLP. He earned a bachelor’s degree in education and social policy from Northwestern University and his juris doctorate from Washington University School of Law. He is admitted to practice in Kentucky and will seek admission to the North Carolina State Bar.
