Brooks Pierce partner Dan Smith recently received Greensboro Beautiful’s Award of Distinction for 2020. Smith served as vice chair of Greensboro Beautiful’s Board of Directors from 2017-2018 and chaired the board from August 2018 to July 2020.
Smith was recognized for his “thorough understanding and unwavering advocacy of Greensboro Beautiful’s partnership with the City of Greensboro… He has also been an anchor in helping navigate the organization through a difficult period – during the COVID-19 pandemic, as well as during a transition with the Parks & Recreation Department.”
Smith focuses his practice on matters involving environmental, commercial, education and state constitutional law. A former educator and environmental scientist, he represents businesses, boards of education and individuals in state, federal, administrative and appellate courts.
