Brooks, Pierce, McLendon, Humphrey & Leonard, LLP is pleased to announce that partner Ed Winslow has been appointed by the North Carolina State Bar to serve as a trustee of the North Carolina State Bar Plan for Interest on Lawyers Trust Accounts. His three-year term will begin September 1, 2013.
The North Carolina State Bar Plan for Interest on Lawyers' Trust Accounts (“IOLTA”) was established by the North Carolina State Bar and the North Carolina Supreme Court to generate income from lawyers' trust accounts in order to fund programs for the public's benefit. The program has been a vital source of funding for the provision of civil legal service to the poor and other programs that work to improve the administration of justice.
Winslow serves as the Managing Partner of Brooks Pierce. His law practice is focused in the areas of banking, corporate and tax. During his legal career Winslow has served in such roles as General Counsel for NC Bankers Association, President of the Greensboro Bar Association, and of the North America Council for Geneva Group International (GGI). Winslow is a frequent speaker and writer on financial services law and law practice management.
