Jill Wilson Named to Triad Business Journal’s 2018 “Outstanding Women in Business”
Brooks Pierce partner Jill Wilson has been named to the Triad Business Journal’s “Outstanding Women in Business,” which recognizes extraordinary businesswomen for the work they have done professionally and in the community. The 2018 winners will be celebrated at an awards luncheon on Friday, April 27.
Wilson represents numerous public school boards of education, private educational institutions, colleges and universities on a wide range of education issues and in litigation in state and federal trial and appellate courts. She also serves on the management committee for Brooks Pierce.
In 2017, the Education Section of the North Carolina Bar Association presented Wilson with the Ann Majestic Award for Distinguished Service, an award given to an attorney with a record of professional, community and personal achievement in the representation or affiliation of educational institutions. She has also been selected by her peers for inclusion in The Best Lawyers in America© for education law each year since 2008 and for employment law since 2016. She has also regularly been recognized by North Carolina Super Lawyers for schools and education law and was named one of the top 50 female attorneys in the state in 2008 and 2009. In 2012, she was presented with the “Women of Justice” award by North Carolina Lawyers Weekly.
“Jill is wholeheartedly committed to her practice, and this engagement is reflected in the high quality of counsel she provides our clients, and the recognition she has received from her peers,” said Brooks Pierce managing partner Reid Phillips. “She is a vital asset to our firm and our community and is very deserving of this award from the Triad Business Journal.”
