Jim Phillips Named to Business North Carolina's Power 100 List
Brooks Pierce partner Jim Phillips has been named to Business North Carolina’s “Power 100” list. The list recognizes North Carolina’s most influential leaders who are making a significant impact on their enterprises, industries and the broader community. Phillips was included in the section honoring individuals who work in professional services.
“I’m very pleased that Jim has been recognized for the strong leadership he shows and the hard work he conducts not just for our clients but for other organizations across the state,” said Reid Phillips, managing partner.
Phillips currently serves as a director of the James B. Hunt Institute for Educational Leadership and Policy and as a trustee of Blue Cross Blue Shield of North Carolina. He previously served as co-chair of Gov. Roy Cooper’s transition team, as chairman of the Greensboro Economic Development Alliance, as chair of the North Carolina Bar Association’s administration of justice committee, and as chairman for the University of North Carolina’s board of governors.
Phillips has extensive experience in federal and state courts, in administrative proceedings and before local governing bodies. He is frequently called upon by businesses, professional firms, educational institutions, individuals and municipalities to represent them when complex, and often very public, legal and regulatory issues arise. He has been voted as one of North Carolina's “Top 100” lawyers and is recognized regularly by North Carolina Super Lawyers.
