Justin Outling Named a Partner at Brooks Pierce

Brooks Pierce is pleased to announce that Justin Outling, an attorney in the Greensboro office, has been made a partner in the firm.

“Justin is a talented attorney who continuously goes above and beyond for our clients as well as the Greensboro community,” said managing partner Reid Phillips. “Through his work, Justin has shown true dedication, not only to the law, but to the individuals and organizations with whom he works. We’re pleased to have him as our newest partner.”

Outling joined Brooks Pierce in 2012. His practice focuses on business litigation and white-collar criminal defense for businesses and professionals across a variety of industries. He received his bachelor’s degree from University of North Carolina at Greensboro and his juris doctor from Duke University.

“Brooks Pierce has provided me with so many opportunities to do such rewarding work,” said Outling. “I’m humbled that these attorneys, so many of whom I consider my mentors, have asked me to become their partner and I look forward to this new chapter with the firm.”

Outling was recently re-elected to his second term as the District 3 representative to the Greensboro City Council after being appointed to the council in 2015. He also serves on the Board of Visitors for UNC-Greensboro and holds leadership roles with Greensboro Downtown Parks, Inc. and Triad Stage, among many other organizations. In 2017, the Greensboro News & Record named Outling as one of the 20 most influential people in Greensboro and in 2016, he received the Outstanding Young Lawyer Award from the Guilford County Association of Black Lawyers and was named to the Triad Business Journal’s “40 Leaders Under 40.”
