Leading North Carolina law firm Brooks Pierce is pleased to announce that Michael J. Minnick Jr. has joined the Greensboro office as a staff attorney focused on e-discovery.
Minnick will work with attorneys across the firm to help them identify, review and preserve electronic data in preparation for trial.
“With an increasing amount of information being stored electronically, having an attorney on staff who understands both the technology and the law related to e-discovery is increasingly vital,” said Reid Phillips, the firm’s managing partner. “The talent and knowledge Michael brings will be an asset to the firm and help us serve our clients more effectively.”
Prior to joining Brooks Pierce, Minnick worked with Legal Aid of North Carolina for two years, litigating in the traditional areas of poverty law. He has also previously assisted with trial preparation at Brooks Pierce, helping attorneys review and analyze documents for complex cases.
“I have a passion for technology and enjoy the law, so I am excited to utilize both skill sets in my new role at Brooks Pierce,” Minnick said. “I look forward to working with such outstanding colleagues and providing my talents to an area that continues to grow along with the expansion of technology.”
Minnick is a member of the Greensboro Bar Association, EDRM (Electronic Discovery Reference Model) at Duke Law’s Center for Judicial Studies, and the Association of Certified e-Discovery Specialists. He received his law degree from the University of California, Los Angeles and has a bachelor’s degree in political science from American University.
