Brooks Pierce partner David Sar has been appointed to the Board of Directors for the Southeast Region of Operation Smile.
Operation Smile is a non-profit organization bringing free dental and oral surgery to children in over 50 nations around the world and providing a network of resources to assist families in the U.S. with children born with facial deformities.
Last year, medical volunteers provided free surgeries for 9,221 children through Operation Smile's local and international medical missions.
David has been active with Operation Smile for several years and most recently served for two years as Co-Chair of their Smiles Galore Gala.
David Sar is an intellectual property lawyer, representing clients in commercial disputes and matters pertaining to patents, trademarks, copyrights, trade secrets and technology. He is responsible for the prosecution and maintenance of over 500 trademark and copyright registrations, both within the U.S. and internationally.
David has been recognized as one of North Carolina's "Legal Elite" in Patents/Intellectual Property Law by Business North Carolina magazine, and he is listed in The Best Lawyers in America in Intellectual Property Law.
