Brooks Pierce attorney Tim Nelson was recently elected as a Chapter Representative to the Executive Committee of the Federal Communications Bar Association (FCBA). Nelson will serve a three-year term.
The FCBA is a volunteer organization consisting of lawyers, engineers, consultants, economists, government officials and others involved in the study, interpretation and practice of communications and information technology law and policy. The organization has 11 active regional chapters throughout the United States, and offers members opportunities for education, professional development and networking with other professionals involved in the broadcasting, telecommunications and technology industries.
A former TV reporter, Nelson has significant experience representing clients in the media industry and helping them navigate the ever-changing media landscape and its particular legal challenges. He counsels clients in issues such as broadcast programming, engineering, First Amendment matters, copyrights, Federal Communications Commission compliance and commercial transactions. Nelson previously served as the co-chair of the FCBA Carolinas chapter, and he is a frequent presenter on broadcasting and regulatory issues.
