Brooks Pierce partner Ed Turlington was recently recognized by the N.C. Center for Public Policy Research as one of the most influential lobbyists in the state legislature. His ranking places him in the top 3% of all registered lobbyists in North Carolina.
The Center releases its rankings of lobbyists in order to help citizens understand government relations, including which individuals and organizations have the most influence and which issues receive the most notice in a particular legislative session. The rankings are based on surveys of all legislators, registered lobbyists based in North Carolina, and the capital news media.
Ed Turlington represents clients in their interaction with government at the federal, state and local level. He has served as Chief of Staff to both the Governor and Lt. Governor of North Carolina, as Special Assistant/Counsel to a United States Senator and as a national advisor to three presidential candidates.
Given this government experience, Ed represents clients before executive branch and administrative agencies on a variety of matters. In addition, a significant part of his practice includes drafting legislation, building support for its enactment and working with governmental leaders toward this goal.
