Brooks Pierce, a leading law firm in North Carolina, is pleased to announce that Tony Barwick and Camden Betz have joined the firm as partners. Both will work primarily in the Raleigh office.

Barwick is a veteran corporate attorney who regularly assists clients in successfully structuring, negotiating and completing a wide variety of complex transactional matters. His experience includes advising financial institutions and corporate clients in multiple industries related to their financings, joint ventures and complex real estate acquisitions and dispositions, including large-scale commercial real estate transactions.
He is a member of the Urban Land Institute, having previously served as the Young Leader Partnership Forum Chair. Barwick is also a member of the Raleigh-Durham chapter of the Association for Corporate Growth, the Commercial Real Estate Finance Council and the Loan Syndications and Trading Association. He received his bachelor’s degree from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill and his law degree from the UNC School of Law, where he served as editor in chief of the North Carolina Journal of International Law and Commercial Regulation.
Betz will focus his practice on commercial real estate law and real estate finance, representing both buyers and sellers in the financing, acquisition, disposition, development and management of commercial properties. He also represents landlords and tenants in commercial lease negotiations for office, retail and industrial properties.
He is a member of the International Council of Shopping Centers, the Urban Land Institute, NAIOP and the North Carolina Bar Association. Betz is also a LEED Accredited Professional, a distinction awarded by the Green Building Certification Institute to professionals who have demonstrated a keen understanding of green building practices. He has been recognized annually since 2011 as a “Rising Star” by North Carolina Super Lawyers. He received his bachelor’s degree from UNC and his law degree from the UNC School of Law, where he was managing editor of the North Carolina Banking Institute Journal.
