WRAL interviewed Brooks Pierce partner Stephen Hartzell on June 21st regarding the Federal Aviation Administration’s new regulations concerning commercial drone use.
“Its exciting to have new rules because they provide us with a road map that will tell us what we can and can’t do when we want to operate drones commercially,” Hartzell said. “For instance, they tell us we can’t fly higher than 400 feet, we can’t fly beyond where we can see the drone, we can’t fly at night, we can’t fly over people and you have to be at least 16 years old and have a special remote pilot certificate in order to fly.”
