Beth Langley Named to North Carolina Lawyers Weekly “Power List”

Beth Langley, a partner with Brooks Pierce, has been named to North Carolina Lawyers Weekly’s inaugural “Power List” for Employment Law.

Langley has over 25 years of experience counseling employers of all sizes on a wide range of employment issues. She has represented businesses in litigation in matters involving civil rights, non-competition agreements and trade secret protection. Her advice and counsel to employers covers issues related to workplace employment compliance, executive compensation, trade secret protection and employment agreements, including non-competition agreements. She also counsels clients on discrimination and harassment issues related to Title VII, the Americans with Disabilities Act, the Fair Labor Standards Act and the Family and Medical Leave Act.

She has received numerous awards for her work including being recognized in North Carolina Lawyers Weekly's "Leaders in the Law" (2020), as an Outstanding Women in Business honoree by the Triad Business Journal (2017) and honored by North Carolina Super Lawyers in Employment & Labor Law (2009-2021) and as one of the Top 50 Women Attorneys (2012-2013, 2019). Langley was also selected by her peers for inclusion in The Best Lawyers in America© in Commercial Litigation, Litigation - Labor and Employment and Employment Law-Management (2014-2022), selected by her peers for inclusion in Business North Carolina's "Legal Elite" in Employment Law (2004-2021), named one of North Carolina Lawyer's Weekly "Women of Justice" (2019) and recognized as a "Labor and Employment Star" by Benchmark Litigation (2020-2021).

Langley is also active in the wider legal profession. In 2018, she was elected to the North Carolina Bar Association’s (NCBA) Board of Governors, a position she held until this year. Members of the Board of Governors also serve on the Board of Trustees for the North Carolina Bar Foundation. Langley chaired the NCBA Nominations Committee this year. She is also a member of the NCBA Development Committee, serving as chair from 2014-2017.
