Brooks Pierce attorneys D.J. O’Brien and Kemper Patton presented a labor and employment webinar at 12:30 p.m. on Tuesday, May 21 titled, “Charging Ahead: Strategies for Mitigating Workforce Discrimination Claims in an Era of Enhanced EEOC Enforcement.”
O’Brien and Patton discussed emerging trends employers face in response to increased Equal Employment Opportunity Commission (EEOC) charges and litigation, including religious liberty, LGBTQI+ rights, AI-related discrimination, the new proposed rules for pregnant workers, and more.

O’Brien’s practice is constantly evolving to advise and represent employers and individuals in commercial litigation, employment law, and regulatory enforcement actions. Patton is a litigation attorney with particular experience in employment and labor disputes involving allegations of discrimination and retaliation, unfair labor practices, and wage and hour issues. He also litigates business issues such as contract disputes, trade secrets, and unfair trade practices.
