Brooks Pierce Attorneys to Present Labor and Employment Webinar on Seasonal Remote-Work Arrangements

Brooks Pierce labor and employment attorneys Tricia Goodson and Kemper Patton presented a webinar titled, “Home for the Holidays: A Guide to Navigating Remote-Work Arrangements During the Holiday Season and Beyond.”

Due to the dramatic rise in the prevalence of remote work and employee expectations of flexibility, employers will undoubtedly face an increase in remote work requests during the holiday season. In this webinar for workplace professionals, Goodson and Patton discussed key employment law considerations for remote work, including managing employee performance from afar, monitoring for and addressing discrimination and harassment, disability accommodations, wage and hour concerns, workers’ compensation, and more.

Goodson counsels clients on all aspects of the employer relationship. Her years of experience in providing guidance to employers and litigating on their behalf when necessary allows her to provide innovative, timely counsel to employers.

Patton is a litigation attorney with particular experience in employment and labor disputes involving allegations of discrimination and retaliation, unfair labor practices, and wage and hour issues. He also litigates business issues such as contract disputes, trade secrets, and unfair trade practices. In addition to his litigation experience, he advises his clients on employment and labor matters in a myriad of industries, such as hospitality, insurance, manufacturing, and education. Patton prioritizes educating himself on every aspect of employers’ workplaces to proactively identify and resolve their issues, with the ultimate goal of avoiding unnecessary litigation.
